Even after a long day of client work I could always sit down until the wee hours of the morning and jam on some identity work. Summing up a brand in a tumb-sized image has forever been a fun challenge. Below are some samples of my favorites.

This short entitled dot dot dot was my final film at the conclusion of college and marks a very important moment in my life. It's great to have this film as a finite reminder of this period. I shot it with a small crew over four days. My sister and I play the lead parts and it was a blast working and hanging with sis for a long weekend. Its the work I'm most proud of to date. Although I have left my acting career behind, my sister is still quite exceptional in front of the camera. Check out her website after you watch the film by clicking here.

Typography has become an obsession of mine which I find to be quite a driving force in the overall direction of my current design work. Its fascinating for example how simply adding or removing a serif, adjusting the kerning, using depth, or utilizing a set's alternate characters could changes a comps overall feeling/theme.

This was a fun project I collaborated on with my friend Mark Smith. Firefox, an internet browser provider, held a contest in which they asked user to create their own commercial promoting their browser. We decided to take a cue from 70's educational films and created a series we called Your Guide to Awesome - Parts 1 Through 3. You can view the spots here: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

A layout I did for an article called Deja Bed which was an editorial on the habits of sleeping partners...meh. I guess it was supposed to be funny? I created a bunch of icons to go with the sidebar that identified sleeping "types".

SafeDecisions personal safe company wanted a flash movie which basically told the user what their product was. Oh yeah, and they wanted it in eight hours. Despite the time contraint, the client was more than pleased with the result. View it here.

Rapper Sage Francis put the word out he was looking for some designs for his 12" single "Makeshift Patriot", a song dealing with the tragedy/media frenzy that was September 11th, 2001. The response was very positive and hopefully it will be popping up at a record store near you in the near future.

Here's a series of designs I put together for a skateboard company I was starting called Vestige Sports. The line dealt with the themes of history and time. These were a lot of fun putting together and still stands as some of my favorite work.

This was a short intro for Best Buy that ran in front of their Video On Demand service. You can view it here. The hardest part about these short intros was the lack of assets. They were mostly created with found images and original color treatments.

This is the cover for HonestMag issue #2 of which I Art Directed and designed the entire issue. Since the name of this issue was "Tastes Like Chicken", I wanted to make a cover that looked like a box for shipping eggs or poultry. Hence the type design which I also designed and the branded look to the woodgrain.

This was the inside cover and editor's note to HonestMag issue two. I made the LV inspired print to be featured on both the front and back inside cover.

Table of Contents for HonestMag. I took a cue from the Chicago Transit Authority's train maps.

A "broke man's recipe" article featuring "Kentucky Fried Tofu". This was inspired by Japanese pop culture, the leaves are tofu bean leaves.

Each issue of HonestMag features a different town in the US that has a rising art scene. This issue focused on the Mission District in San Fransisco. I used the San Fransisco 49'ers colors as inspiration for the look. I also tried to give the map a sun-bleached feel.

Article featuring the "Soap Factory" gallery in Minnesota. I kept the look of this article pretty German 70's.

HonestMag's top films of 2005 article. I saw a film that used the old blue and white "restricted" card at the end of the creditd and thought it would work well the Serif Gothic font.
